Been thinking about becoming a member? See below to have some of your initial questions answers. And of course we're always happy to meet with you to discuss further.'

If you are considering becoming a member here at St Stephens Church we ask that you prayerfully read the Basic Statement of what we believe, since you will need to indicate your agreement to both this, as well the the responsibilities it will involve by completing and signing the membership declaration.

Click here to view the full Basic statement of what we Believe.  This statement covers the following items:

  1. The Authority of Scripture
  2. Humankind's Sinfulness
  3. Judgement
  4. Christ our only Hope
  5. Necessity of conversion
  6. Holiness - the result

Membership brings with it responsibilities and obligations. Listed below are some of the Bible’s main expectations of you.

  • The Bible is the Word of God. As a result a Christian should be involved in regular Bible study personally, in a small group and in church. This is essential for spiritual development.
  • A Christian’s life should be filled with regular prayer.
  • Godliness is our normal response to God’s grace. Every Christian should pursue Christlikeness in every aspect of their lives.
  • Lost people matter to God and therefore all Christians should be involved in evangelism.
  • All Christians are gifted by God and should be using these gifts in some aspect of service for the church.
